You have been diagnosed with low thyroid function. People with low thyroid function can have a variety of symptoms including fatigue, excess sleepiness, we gain, bloating, joint and muscle pain or stiffness, overly cold, weight gain, and brain fog. Females can have abnormal periods.
There are multiple causes for low thyroid function. The most common is Hashimoto's, an autoimmune thyroid condition. Autoimmune means that your body failed to understand that your thyroid belong there and started to destroy. Most patients with Hashimoto's will eventually require thyroid hormone replacement.
To replace her thyroid hormone you will be prescribed a pill that you will take on a daily basis. This pill needs to be taken first thing in the morning with water and wait at least 30 minutes before you eat something.this pill cannot be taken with other vitamins, minerals or supplements.
