FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Florida Endocrine Consultants, PLLC is committed to helping patients in Florida find the right treatment plan for their diabetes, thyroid, and other hormonal disorders. This page has everything you need to know about our practice.

What is an Endocrinologist?

An Endocrinologist is a physician that completed their medical school training and completed a 3 year residency in Internal Medicine. Internal Medicine focuses on all aspects of a patient’s care, like your primary care doctor. Endocrinologists go on to complete an additional 2 years in a fellowship that allows them to focus only on the treatment of Endocrine and Metabolic Conditions.

Do you accept insurance?

Our goal is to allow patients to take back their health their way. You will dictate the length and frequency of your appointments without the barriers placed by insurance companies. You can still use your insurance to pay for labs and any medications that are prescribed for you. You are welcome to submit your receipt for reimbursement from your insurance, HSA or FSA.

How does concierge medicine work?

Concierge patients pay a reasonable membership fee that offsets the cost of running a medical practice. This allows us to limit the number of patients in our practice which allows you longer appointment times and same or next day appointments. All concierge visits are blocked for an entire hour and each appointment comes at a reduced fee or even included visits. We will have enough time to dive into any issues you’d like to discuss and establish a meaningful and lifelong relationship. Added to this is the direct access to my cell phone and same day/next day, after hours and holiday appointment times available. This is ultimately the most comprehensive way to take your health into your hands. What conditions do you treat?

Endocrinologists treat all hormonally or metabolically mediated conditions. The most common conditions we treat are diabetes, thyroid disorders, calcium disorders, obesity (medical weight loss), and hormonal imbalance. Less common conditions that we also treat include adrenal, pituitary, and bone disorders.

Who should see an Endocrinologist?

Patients with any of the conditions we treat would benefit from seeing an Endocrinologist. During your regular visits with your primary, you have to discuss all of your preventative health exams along with any medical conditions or complaints. In our visits we will dedicate the entire time to your Endocrine condition and provide you with ample time to understand what is your diagnosis and involve you in deciding your tailored treatment plan. We value your feedback and want you to take back your health. Your health. Your way.

What if I don’t have a diagnosis but feel like I could have an Endocrine disorder? Will the doctor see me then?

Sure, it is my pleasure. For patients that present with complaints that have not been evaluated or have had extensive work up with no results, we recommend booking a 60 minute appointment. This will allow us to have a detailed visit to really dig in and determine what needs to be studied further. I have often found that in these patients a rush-free visit with a very detailed history helps us find the root source of the problem and start you on the journey to taking back your health.

How does telemedicine work and won’t I miss out on an in person visit?

I created a telemedicine based practice when I noticed how difficult it was to miss work to be seen by a doctor. In Endocrinology a detailed history reviewing your symptoms, medications, and history is the most important part of your visit. The physical exam can be altered so that I can obtain the information that I need. We will be able to review all your labs and imaging results like we would during an in person visit. Say goodbye to rushing to your visit to sit in a crowded lobby. Your lobby is your home or office. Log in to the secure portal about 10 minutes before your appointment and see the difference today. Join me in taking back your health today.
