Second Opinion - Consulting Print E-mail

The Endocrine Care Group provides remote second opinions for many Endocrinology conditions or potential hormonally based problems.  Many endocrine patients seek a second opinion and we are pleased to be able to provide this service. For some of you, this may be an initial opinion because of limited access to medical specialists in your community. We can guide the investigation into your potential diagnosis through direct communications with your Primary Physician.

Your Second Opinion Steps

Step 1—You provide us with copies of your medical history (eg. physician notes and laboratory findings).

Step 2—We perform a thorough review of your information.

Step 3—We provide initial Opinions and Recommendations. This may be your final "Second Opinion" if the information is sufficient to do so. However, in some cases we may not be able to give a final Opinion based on the initial information, and instead recommend further testing.

Step 4—Final Opinion and Recommendations. When we have gathered adequate information and reviewed it, we will give a final Opinion and Diagnosis. Written copies of the recommendations will be sent to your address and to your Primary Physician if requested by you, or if your consultation process has been under their direction.

What We Can't Do

There are some conditions that we will not be able to diagnose or adequately assess given the nature of this practice. For example, we cannot offer opinions regarding skin discolorations or size/character of thyroid nodules or goiters without accompanying radiological studies.

We cannot offer second opinions regarding pathological specimens or review radiological films.

If your initial information is not legible or the data unintelligible for other reasons, we will refund your money in full.

If we cannot offer a final diagnosis after thorough review of sufficient laboratory data, we will refund 50% of your initial fee.

We are licensed to provide second opinions for people from California, Florida, and South Carolina.  We can also receive referrals from primary care physicians in select states.  Please contact us for additional information.
